About Us
The Puppy Place is made of of six volunteers puppy raisers who have a combined
total of over 65 years experience raising Guide Dog puppies. We also have a
volunteer Guide Dog instructor to that helps with the different FAQ sections and
questions that are asked at the site. The Puppy Place is a not for profit
website, with the proceeds of any of the donations received going toward
maintaining this website, and supporting the Guide Dog puppy programs throughout
the United States.

History
The Puppy Place was founded in the fall of 1986 by two volunteer puppy raisers
who thought that it would be a good idea if there was a website that could provide
various information on the Seeing Eye and Guide Dog programs in the U.S.A. as well as
pictures, dog humor, and some training tips for the visitor. The Puppy Place
website originally started out with just 5 pages and averaged around 50 visits a
day. Now The Puppy Place now boasts over 100+ pages which include everything from
Guide Dog Breed Information to our very popular Dog Humor section! It has won numerous Internet awards and
has even been featured in the U.S.A. Today newspaper. As of January 2006,
The Puppy Place is averaging over a half million visits a year!

Future Plans
The Puppy Place has plans in the future to add additional FAQ pages, more
training information and include a live chat room to the website. We would like
to also add a site search function to The Puppy Place, but we will need the
funding to hire, or a volunteer web developer to do so.
