Thunder's Web Page

Hello and welcome to my own web page! As you probably know by now my name is Thunder, and I'm a black & tan German Shepherd and I weigh over 100 pounds, but I'm still as lovable as I was when my puppy raisers first got me. They're just like my parents now, and I'm with them just about 24 hours a day, and I go just about everywhere they go. Even on airplanes! It's a rough life, huh?

I am called a Guide Dog Puppy in training for a blind person. Even though I do have to work a lot my foster parents still let me do normal dog things like play with my toys, run in the woods, and chase squirrels (opps, you didn't hear that!). I pretty much lead a normal life but I have to be very good in public when I'm on duty. At home I'm not allowed on furniture, I'm not supposed to beg for food, and when I'm working, people are not supposed to pet me. As big as I am now that's usually the last thing that I have to worry about!

Below you'll find the best pictures of me, I hope that you like them. After you get done, make sure that you look through the rest of our site to. There's a lot of information about guide dogs just like me and what they do for blind and disabled people. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my very own page on the Internet!  *Woof* from me (Thunder) to you!

Sigmund Freud Actually Had A German Shepherd?!

Thunder and the shovelSigmund Freud, the father of psycho-analysis, had a German Shepherd named Wolf, who disappeared one day into the winding streets of Vienna, only to return hours later in a --taxi! After the dog had jumped into the taxi and refused to budge from the rear seat, the cabdriver read his name tag and brought him home.

"Say something idiotic and nobody but a dog politely wags his tail."

People get confused because they do not know what they need or want, and then depression sets in. Dogs do not have this problem. They know exactly what makes them happy--doing something for someone.

All dogs chew, jump up, bark and nip, It's part of being a dog....If you aren't prepared to live with a little of these activities--especially in the puppy stages--you're really better off with an iguana.

Be sure to socialize your pup before he reaches thirteen weeks. After that, it's difficult to convince a dog to bond with a human.
